2023 6k for Water

Post by

oin us for our 13th annual 6k for Water! 6k is the average distance that women and children in Africa walk each day to collect water. We’re going the distance so they don’t have to. On Saturday June 10th, join individuals across the world and walk 6k to raise funds for The Humanity Share’s clean water initiatives in East Africa.

This years 6k will benefit our next clean water project at Orinie Dispensary in Kajiado, Kenya. Access to water will allow the dispensary to be reclassified as a health center and for the first time provide comprehensive health services to the region, most notably maternal healthcare. Access to water will also jumpstart other development opportunities including construction of housing for medical staff and starting a sustainable agriculture project.

This project will cost $60,000 to complete. Walk alone or grab some friends and help us bring water to Orinie! Live in the Chicagoland area? More information and registration here!

In 2022 we walked for water in Kajiado Town and drilling is happening NOW! Follow along on instagram @thehumanityshare to see how your 2022 participation in the 6k is making an impact in over 13,000 lives!
