n Monday, May 29 our leadership team spent the day with Joy. The day started with a meeting between her boss, the Governor, and The HumanityShare leadership where we discussed the importance of educating girls in the community. We then visited Joy’s office where she writes field reports and conducts research to help her community increase their knowledge on tilapia fish farming. After that, we packed up and headed to the field to see one of the fish ponds Joy helped a community member start as an alternative livelihood. Then it was off to Sajiloni Girls School where she gave a motivational talk to 500 high school girls. Joy encouraged the girls, telling them she once was one of them. She shared about the hurdles she overcame and told them that if she can make it, so can they!
