A New School Year Started

s we kick off 2024, our students in Kenya are starting a new school year. This year, we're proud to announce our commitment to 101 girls in Kajiado and West Pokot – our largest class of scholars to date! In the past week, students have visited our Kenyan office to collect their dignity kits and school fees. We appreciate the opportunity to support a significant number of girls this year and extend our gratitude to the sponsors who financially support these girls and their dreams.

Our education program provides scholars with school fees, access to mentorship and counseling, and a dignity kit at the start of each semester. Dignity kits provide students basic hygiene supplies so they can learn with dignity. Each dignity kit includes:

  • Sanitary pads
  • Soap
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Laundry detergent
  • Shoe polish
  • Toilet paper
  • Moisturizer
“One of the most rewarding parts of our education program is watching the leaders emerge from the group. Many of our scholars serve on student council or as class representative. These girls realize the opportunity they have been given and are focused, compassionate, and determined to realize their dreams. They inspire their classmates, communities, and all of us here at The Humanity Share. We look forward to watching them grow in 2024!” -Kait TenHarmsel, CEO

We are looking for 30 more sponsors to support the 2024 program. Sponsorship is $47 a month/$564 a year. You will also have the opportunity to provide encouragement to the student you’re paired with twice per year through a letter exchange. Email katie@thehumanityshare.org to become a sponsor or learn more.
