helsea Wilsey is originally from Detroit and now lives in Grand Rapids, MI. She is currently a Partnership Manager with RaiseRight, a community-focused fundraising company. She has extensive experience in community outreach, sustainability, and advocacy.

Joining The Humanity Share’s Board of Directors (USA), Chelsea brings her experience in partnership management and strategic development. She has skills and experience in cultivating corporate partnerships and will support THS in establishing a trusted protocol to increase donor participation. With a strong background in leadership, public speaking, and negotiation, she can create additional, more sustainable sources of giving through partnerships.

On her appointment to the Board, Chelsea says:

“I started my career in sustainability, initially focused on animal rights and climate work. I quickly realized that women and girls' rights, education, and clean water access are the paramount conditions for a sustainable future. My career later migrated into partnership development, but my passion never left water access and the rights of communities that often go unrepresented. I was looking for a way to bring that advocacy back to the forefront of my life — and then I found The Humanity Share. Now I get to bring my corporate partnerships skillset to the board while pursuing change in a meaningful, effective way.”

Chelsea believes that community-led actions are the best way to create a safer, more sustainable world. Ensuring more women and girls have access to education and safety (water, medicine, food) reduces the impact of the greatest threats to humanity, while also fostering equity and justice. She describes her leadership style as a collaborative visionary, valuing diverse group perspectives, shared ownership of decisions, and flexibility within a framework. This aligns well with her core personal values of integrity, authenticity, growth, and collaboration.

Board Chair, Justin Genzink, says, “We are so excited to have Chelsea joining the board. She brings incredible experience to her role and will play a key part as we continue to grow our organization to better serve our partners in Kenya and ensure we have a solid foundation here in the U.S. Having people on the board who can bring the skills and knowledge they use in their everyday work is a blessing!”

Our principle of “take what you know and do good” is precisely why Chelsea wants to work alongside The Humanity Share. Please join us in welcoming her to the Board!
