ur team is growing - join us in welcoming Renay Saenik Siolompe to the THS staff!
On September 1, 2024, Renay joined our THS staff as the Monitoring & Evaluation Officer in our Kenya office. As our work in Kenya has grown, we recognized the need to hire a staff member whose key focus is on monitoring and evaluating our programs. With a background in Statistics, Renay vied as a strong candidate for this role, and her joining the team brings a sweet full circle moment as she is one of our education program alumni.
Renay joined The Humanity Share organization as a secondary student in 2015 in Form 2 (10th grade). Upon her completion, she joined Muranga University of Technology to pursue her undergraduate degree. In December 2022, Renay graduated from university with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics (Statistics) and Computer Science. She holds experience in data science, data analytics, and machine learning. To read the alumni spotlight on Renay that highlights her academic and career journey, click here!
So far as the monitoring & evaluation officer, Renay has extensively reviewed our existing materials and documentation, drafted logic models for each of the programs, traveled to West Pokot with the Kenya team, participated in the training for the borehole water operators, and conducted site visits and observations at our project locations in Kajiado. And this is only the beginning! She has been a fantastic addition to our team and her knowledge and experience within the Maasai community is helping to strengthen our community partnerships and relationships.
In addition to the monitoring & evaluation role Renay is stepping into, we are excited to see her be a role model for the girls in the education program. Renay intimately knows the experiences that our girls face. As an alumni and now staff member, she is perfectly positioned to inspire, mentor, and encourage those following in her footsteps that their dreams can be achieved! Being a trailblazer is not a new endeavor for Renay! In her immediate and extended family, she is the first to graduate with a bachelor’s degree. Renay is not only a pacesetter in her family but also a trailblazer in her Maasai community.
“I’m excited to be part of THS as a staff member because I will be part of the family that shaped me to be of help to shape up other girls' destinies. I am excited to be using my honed skills and abilities to better the organization while learning from them as well.” ~ Renay Siolompe, THS Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
