lease join us in welcoming Ranka Reson to The Humanity Share team as our new Education Program Coordinator!

We are thrilled to introduce Reson, who brings deep personal experience, passion, and dedication to her role at The Humanity Share in Kenya. She is a proud alumna of The Humanity Share education program, receiving support from secondary school through university. That journey empowered Reson to persevere, graduate debt-free, and remain connected through attending university conferences. In 2020, she joined The Cooperative University of Kenya, completing a Diploma in Community Development & Social Work in 2022, and continued to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Community Development which she recently completed and awaits graduation in December!
Reson is deeply motivated by empowering communities through advocacy, education, and resource mobilization. Her long-term goal is to create and run a children’s home that supports young people to achieve their dreams. In her free time, Reson enjoys reading, cooking, and baking. Her journey from scholarship recipient to Education Program Coordinator embodies The Humanity Share’s mission of breaking the cycles of poverty through community-led transformation.
Reson joined our team in June, working alongside Program Manager, Maureen Pashile, in overseeing the university scholarship application process.
Regarding her appointment, Kait TenHarmsel (CEO) says,
“Reson is the second THS alum we’ve hired in the past year, and we couldn’t be more proud. Reson has always stood out as a role model among her peers. Her college application essay, which powerfully captured the ripple effects of educating girls in her community, has been featured in many of our fundraising campaigns. Today, she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Community Development, and we’re thrilled that The Humanity Share is where she’ll put her studies into practice. On a personal note, it’s been a joy getting to know Reson more deeply. There’s always a shift when someone moves from student to colleague, but it’s become one of my favorite parts of this work. Hiring from within our alumni network, and positioning The Humanity Share as a competitive employer in the Kenyan job market, is a powerful sign of long-term impact in the communities we serve. We’re excited to see Reson grow in her professional journey and use her skills to do good!”
