Annual 6k Walk/Run

Post by

e're going the distance, so they don't have to! 6k is the average distance that women and children in Africa walk each day to collect water. Join us and go the distance so they don’t have to. On June 11th and 12th, join individuals across the world and walk 6k to raise funds for The Humanity Share’s basic needs initiatives in East Africa!

Dates: Saturday, June 11, 2022 & Sunday June 12, 2022

Time: Anytime

Location: Wherever you are!

Since 2007, we have been committed to bringing clean water to our East African partner communities. Over the past 2 years, as COVID-19 continued to impact our global community, we understand now more than ever the importance of having access to clean water.

This year the 6k will provide funding for our clean water project identified for Kajiado, a township near and dear to our heart. The project will target all households in Kajiado township and adjacent informal settlements of the majengo area through the care givers of U5 children (children under age 5). The township has approximately 6,000 people, the local congregation has 410 people and the school within the church has a pupil enrolment of 420 children.

Participants can support this clean water project from wherever you are. Pick either Saturday or Sunday - whichever works best with your schedule. We can't wait to see how many different places we can represent on June 11th and 12th!

Here’s how it works:
  1. Register on Eventbrite. Your registration fee of $24 supports clean water for 3 community members in East Africa.
  2.  Once you have registered, we are encouraging participants to create a Facebook fundraiser to raise additional funds to help us reach our overall goal of $10,000.
  3. If you register before before June 3rd you will receive an information packet from our 6k team to help represent the 6k - keep an eye out in the mail!
  4.  On Saturday June 11th or Sunday June 12th, run, walk, jog or dance your way for 6k (approximately 3.72 miles) and help impact lives in East Africa.
  5.  Post a photo of you on race day, tag @thehumanityshare, using the hashtag #THS6k. You can also send photos or videos to our 6k team at and we will post for you!
  6. Participants who register AND post/share about the 6k will receive a surprise follow-up gift as a thank you for your support (limited quantity available).
